Guten Tag!

And around the world we go......

Mama, Papa, Korky and I just got official word today that we are moving to Stuttgart, Germany in June! Can you believe it? For those who are keeping track, that will be 3 countries that I have lived in during my first 2 years of life. We are sad that we will be so far from the rest of the family, but we are really excited about the adventures that lie ahead. Plus, we really, really love Germany.

(Frankly, I don't quite get the whole thing, but as long as my Mama and Papa are there, and they have swings and pineapple, I should be just fine.)

Love,
gus

Seriously

I tend to be very serious when I have a task to complete.
In fact, I get so focused, that Mama and Papa have to remind me to relax and smile.
I tell them that there will be time to relax when I'm finished.
Okay, a moment of satisfaction before.....
....it's time to get back to work!

Slow Down Please!

Easter 2007 Sacile, Italy
Easter 2008 Newport RI, USA

Egg Hunt!

Despite the 30 degree temp, I had my basket and I was ready to hunt for eggs yesterday.
I checked my basket first to make sure that it was sturdy enough to hold lots of eggs.
My first one and it's blue to match my dress and my eyes!
Now, I get it....this is fun. (By the way, after proving you could wear Uggs with a fancy Christmas dress, I decided to follow it up and wear Nikes with my Easter dress. I am my mother's daughter.)
It's freezing, but I'm going to keep going. (This is the face I make when the wind hits me, which happens a lot in Newport.)
Mama has a lot more Easter pics, so check back often.

Make it Quick

A nice moment with Grandpa before he goes to the airport
I love you.
Okay, moment's over. What's next?

A Little Too Much Help

Grandma and Grandpa love to help Mama out by putting me in my carseat. But in this case, I'm not sure two hands are better than one.....I just hang on and hope that everyone is still in one piece when they are done. Something about the process is a little awkward.....
Um Grandpa, it's about your arm......

Progress Report

Inspired by Eri's Mom, Mama decided to give everyone an update on me....my development, my interests, my aspirations......

Augusta is one busy girl these days, and as a result, I am always tired! She has a busy schedule with ballet on Tuesdays, Music Together on Wednesdays, gymnastics on Thursdays, and swimming or storytime on Fridays. We practice a lot at home and she knows all the stretching postions (pike, straddle, etc.) and the arm positions in ballet. She is working on her teddy bear routine for ballet which she will perform in a recital in June!

She is a great eater and will try almost anything, but her favorites are bananas, pineapple, chicken, cheerios, tomatoes, olives, and all bread products. She loves going to Subway for lunch.

She has never been a great sleeper, but she is doing better with naps and stays all night in her own bed at least 2-3 times a week (a vast improvement).

We started potty training, but either I started too early, or I just have a bad attitude about it, so we are going to start again after we move this summer and are settled in a new home.

She loves to talk on the phone, but only speaker phone, so she can keep playing while she talks. She is starting to talk more or I guess we are learning to understand her more. She loves to try big words like octopus and cappucino, but she tends to add her own style with an extra syllable or two.

She loves the cartoon, The Backyardigans, and can name all the characters. She can spot a Backyardigans video in target from 2 aisles away.

She is still crazy for books and her current favorite is To Market To Market, recommended by her friend, Kian.

She loves going to the park (hope it warms up soon). She is crazy for the slides. She goes on the smaller ones by herself when she's with me (and the bigger ones when she's with John).

She is still reserved around others, and while she enjoys her classes, and watching the other kids, she would just as soon they not to touch her in any way.

She loves to play with the train at Barnes and Noble and we spend a lot of time there when it's cold outside.

She has a great sense of humor and her latest is to ask herself "where's Mama" even when I'm right there. She pretends she can't see me. It's pretty funny.

Okay, I could go on forever, so I'll stop. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read the "Gus blog". It means a lot to us that she is so loved.

Strollin' Along

Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit (again). Here is a picture of Grandma and I getting ready to go for a walk. It was a little cold that day, so we had to bundle up!

Korky Update

Good News! Korky doesn't have one of the two most devastating diseases that cats get. We are now waiting on a bunch of other tests and we will go from there. Mama is back to talking about what a pain she is, so I think that's a good sign.

Funny story. Mama was talking to Gab (Great Aunt Bev) and Mama said she would be happy when Korky was done with her tests the other day since she was under anesthesia and Mama was praying that she would come out of it just fine. Gab said "oh, Korky isn't going that easy. When Korky goes, she's taking someone with her!". If you know Korky, you are laughing now. If you don't know her, the vet summed it up the other day by saying "Korky was NOT a good kitty today".

Good Thoughts

Hi Friends, It's Gus. Send some good thoughts for my "sister" Korky. The doctor is concerned that she might be very sick. We will know more on Wednesday.P.S. Mama and Papa always talk like Korky is such a pain, but based on their stress level today, I would have to say that they love her more than they would ever admit, so have a good thought for them too.

Prima Ballerina

Who is that girl wearing her first bun?
It's me! I'm getting dressed for my first ballet class.
Leg warmers, check.
Stretching, check.
I am ready to go!
Mama and I had a great time at my first lesson. 10 girls in pink leotards running around on their tippy toes is quite a site! I am the youngest one so several of the experienced, 3 year-olds took me under their wings. I have been doing legs kicks and arm positions for two days now. I can't wait to go back. (Mama needs to work on her flexibility though. Sheesh.)

Hairy

You would be in a bad mood too if your hair looked like this.
That's much better.

Wild Child

Uncle Billy finally harassed Mama enough and here are some new pics.
My bored, supermodel look
Toothy grin
The hair goes one way, the pants go the other way
